Early Life & Acting Career
Born in Cheshire, England, Angela Cartwright moved to Los Angeles as a child and began acting at age three, playing Paul Newman's daughter in Somebody Up There Likes Me. By four, she landed the role of Linda Williams on The Danny Thomas Show (Make Room for Daddy), Danny’s on-screen daughter for seven seasons.
Angela rose to international fame as Brigitta von Trapp in The Sound of Music, one of the most beloved films of all time. She went on to star as the adventurous Penny Robinson in the cult-favorite sci-fi series Lost in Space, cementing her place in television history. Her extensive acting credits include numerous television shows, commercials, and films across decades.

Angela has co-authored several celebrated books that reflect her life in entertainment and her
artistic pursuits:
The Sound of Music Family Scrapbook – a nostalgic collection of personal stories, rare photos,
and memorabilia from the film.
Lost (and Found) in Space 2: Blast Off Into the Expanded Edition – a visual memoir with Bill Mumy, filled with behind-the-scenes memories and never-before-seen images.
On Purpose – a fantasy novel co-written with Mumy, featuring 27 of Angela’s illustrations and an original soundtrack by Bill.
Styling the Stars: Lost Treasures from the 20th Century Fox Archives is Angela's award-winning coffee table book, and offers a rare, intimate look behind the scenes of Hollywood’s golden era.
She is also the author of mixed-media art books like Mixed Emulsions-Altered Art Techniques for Photographic Imagery, In This House-A Collection of Altered Art Imagery & Collage Techniques and In This Garden: Exploration in Mixed-Media Visual Narrative, sharing her innovative altered photography techniques.

Angela is a passionate photographer and mixed-media artist. Her hand-painted photographic images and collaged works are collected around the world. Her creative explorations extend into wearable art and symbolic jewelry through her signature brand:
Angela Cartwright Studio – showcasing her fine art, art.wear clothing line, and unique jewelry. The Edelweiss Collection – a collaboration with artist Michael Michaud, inspired by The Sound of Music and infused with story and symbolism.
Travel & Tours
Angela shares her love of storytelling and connection with fans through curated experiences abroad. She leads special tours to Salzburg, Austria, with CRAFTOURS — revisiting the magic of The Sound of Music in the very locations where it was filmed, and offering behind-the-scenes insight few can share.
Personal Life
Angela has been married to her husband Steve since 1976. Together, they raised two children
Becca & Jesse and are now the proud grandparents of five. She continues to live a life filled
with love, laughter, creativity, and curiosity—embracing each new chapter with the same spirit
she brought to the screen.
